Dr. Welch discussed how to communicate and take good care of traumatized victims and how Civil Society taking good care of themselves. She introduced trauma-informed approaches to trafficking-related work. Dr. Welch taught how chronic trauma affects our body and brains, trauma impacts a person’s ability to function and relate to people, developmental trauma disorder, trauma-informed care, and therapeutic modalities to heal from trauma.
